Associate Degree - Surveying

Students who want to work in a technical field that offers the opportunity to work outdoors should consider a career in surveying. Virtually every construction project undertaken by government agencies, developers, and private contractors requires the skills of an experienced surveyor. Opportunities also exist in environmental research, mapping, and anywhere there's a need to establish boundaries. While many of today’s surveyors spend plenty of time in the field, there are also opportunities to work in an office setting on engineering reports, mapping projects, and other surveying assignments.

The Associates Degree program provides the student with necessary skills to enter the surveying and mapping profession at an entry level with accumulated knowledge in both plane and advanced surveying. Much of the student’s time is spent outdoors actually doing the field surveying, construction layouts, data collection, and advanced survey projects required in the surveying profession.
